Now for the fun part
Bonus Tutorial from Greg
Many of our community members would like to continue to improve their design skills. Forum member ?Greg? has given us a great new design tutorial for making a cool haloed logos and 3-D shapes. Take a look at this tutorial as Greg helps you to create professional images for your site in minutes.
You have most likely seen a few logos with halos haven?t you, well here?s a quick and easy way to make them.
First create a new image about 500 px x 500 px with a transparent background. Using the horizontal type tool the text that you want to be haloed. When you are done you should have something like this:

Now for the halo. Make a new layer above the one with the text, select your Elliptical Marquee Tool and select an area similar to the one I have below. Fill it with # F1BD19.

Deselect (Ctrl+D). Select the Elliptical Marquee Tool and select an area within the yellow oval. Make sure it is the same shape, only smaller, than the yellow oval. Press delete. You should have something like this now:

Ok, now go to Edit>Transform>Distort. Try to make the halo look like mine:
